If you enjoyed the stylish black shaker pen P’3140 brought out by Porsche Design a couple of years ago, you are going to love it’s new sibling. Porsche Design pens have always had a more masculine feel about them. Being directly linked to the automobile industry and specifically Porsche, who have enjoyed a bit of a “boy racer” image in past years, Porsche Design pens may have given the impression that they are yet another “boys toy”. But, as we can see now with the latest edition of the P’3140, one has to wonder if they are wanting to gain the attention of the fairer sex, after all women drive Porsche cars too, so why not accessorize? The P’3140 pocket ballpen has a barrel made of white precious resin, the front and end pieces are made of chrome-plated, polished metal giving the pen an overall look of sporty elegance. Like the original P’3140, the end of the pen sports a small projection which acts as a parking brake preventing the pen from rolling off a sloping desk and like it’s more masculine brother, with a flick of the wrist the point will appear and with a similar movement retract again. The innovative mechanism also makes it very compact, light in weight and at only 11 cm long, it will fit into any pocket, wallet or even handbag. This may even make the ideal pen on the golf course! With only be 5,000 pieces made for worldwide purchase, if you are not planning to buy one for your significant other, then you might want to snap one up for yourself.
