Expressive, passionate, romantic – how would you like to get your message across on Valentine’s day. If you are looking for a novel way to express your feelings, why not use a Magnetic Poetry Romance Kit to magnetically communicate to the love of your life how you feel. Where did the idea of Valentine’s day come from? There are a few legends; one suggests that Valentine was a priest who served during the third century in Rome. It has been said that when Emperor Claudius II decided that single men made better soldiers than those with wives and families, he actually decided to outlaw marriage for young men – especially those he had singled out to be part of his army. Valentine, realizing this injustice rebelled against Claudius and continued to perform marriages for young lovers in secret. Unfortunately Valentine was put to death when his actions were discovered. Another legend states that whilst Valentine was in prison, he sent the first “valentine” greeting himself to a young girl – potentially the jailer’s daughter who visited him whilst he was there. Before he died he supposedly wrote her a letter and signed it “your valentine” an expression, which is still used in cards today. Other stories suggest that Valentine may have been killed for attempting to help Christians escape harsh Roman prisons where they were often beaten and tortured. Whatever the truth it all makes for an interesting story, and certainly paints valentine as an heroic, sympathetic and romantic figure. He is now one of the most popular Saints in the UK.
magnetically communicate your feelings
David Kapell founder of Magnetic Poetry, developed these magnetised words to assist his writers block. He knew he was onto something when friends came round and started re-arranging the words on his fridge to form their own poems and songs. Magnetic Poetry has now sold over three million word kits and over one billion word tiles.
